java chat problems

I know it is an old subjectand the guys already discused it. But because i didn't solve the problem, i said why not to bring again and i hope this time i get some clue.
Hi!

I'm trying to enter a java chat room, but somehow don't succeed (on my PC everything works fine). I have Mac OS X 10.3.9 on a 15" iBook G4, and the problem seems to depend on the browser and java:

Safari: after clicking on the enter button, I almost immediately get nothingg

Camino / Firefox/ netscape: the java applications starts to download, but it goes on for ages and nothing really happens.
I don't know the java I have in my computer.
Any idea how to solve this problem?!

i think it is matter of Java which is not compatible with mac if you are chat addict the only solution is to use Virtual PC for this purpose ?
