Salam Alaikum:

Attached is a screenshot of an Arabic Microsoft Word document with tables being opened in Pages. One problem with Pages is that there is no "right-to-left" selection, so one must use right justification.

Hopefully this will be fixed in the future.

What about if you install the "Writing Direction Menu" from http://nirs.freeshell.org/wdm , would that help to alter the text direction/justification?a

You should even be able to set the text direction using the contextual menu. If you highlight the text block and then right click (alternatively ctrl+click) on the highlighted text, a contextual menu will pop up, from where you can choose "writting direction" and then "Right to Left".a

Hi/Salam !
I think right to left alignment (without direction) is supported by Pages.
You can change alignment to left, right, center, fully justified from Text Inspector:

BTW, if you want Right to Left "Direction" Al-Irani's solution is the best!

That's the problem: there is no contextual menu for right-to-left like with most apps. Even writing direction menu does not enable this. One can right justify, but that's a clumsy solution.

This is really outrageous. This mean that the "Pages" has gone backward even compare to TextEdit. We have to get mobilized and send as many letter as we can asking Apple to improve
