Technical support with real mac geniuses

It’s time Apple stopped focusing on haveing the thinnest, quietest, cutest machine on the market and realize why their core customers buy their machines - reliability. Of course, I guess the focus is on NEW customers now.

We have 2 Apple resellers which is good really, the problem with them is sales staff, they don't seem to be Mac users or at least Mac enthusiasts, A fridge sales people would show more interest in their products than Apple staff in Bahrain

Other thing is software and other gadgets for the platform, they are either over priced or non existent at all. actually one of them had no single Mac on display, all i saw was Macs in Boxes, I'm sure Apple's packaging is superior to other brands but we need to touch that Mac.

The reason Macs are more expensive in this area is the lack of direct Apple support to the local dealer, They usually sell to the agent in UAE who ads a bit extra on everything and we end up paying the difference

I think what we need is more direct support from Apple</div>

Milyani, Please save your efforts for a better thing. I have talked about this topic on this forum many times, and loudly said that APPLE HAS NO INTEREST IN THE ARAB WORLD period

What I said above is based on several meetings I had in the past with Apple officials in the US. Apple is ONLY interested in the American market.

بالنسبة ان ابل مهي مهتمة بالعالم العربي .... ابدا ابدا كلامك مردود وكلام الي كلمتو في امريكا مردود .... يمكن تكون بتتكلم عن حوار دار قبل ٦ او ٧ سنين ، لكن في الثلاث سنين اخيرة اتغير الوضع ...

وصراحة اسمحلي ، لو حضرت الاجتماع الي دار في جدة .... كان عرفت كلمتي ليش بقول ان كلامك مردود ....

i walk through the mall, and a BIG apple logo, turns my head

i go in, and i get lost in the beautiful technology they've got on display
from iPods to macs, every thing U could ever 9.... oh the pleasure
a guy, with a black Tshirt with an apple logo, approuches, and asks me if im thinking about a mac
so i asked him about the good stuff... so he goes on and on about the system, and how it works, and tells me about the convenient prices... i was truly amazed

i thank him, and head to the second floor, and notice that there's a large screen, and a guy from the staff,illustrating about garageband....
and it just HIT ME.... what the hell am i doing with a stupid windows, thats full with bugs and viruses!!!!

so i switched to a MAC

so i head to a store in slaimania, or to the computer stores on olaya st.
i buy my new decoder, and on my way to the parking lot, i notice a small apple logo
i go in,
i find an indian guy, sitting on his desk not even looking, very few MACS on display
ask him about the system, and he BARELY talked...
the prices are extremely EXPENSIVE
i get a bad impression... hate that company and LEAVE

It is true we have 2 dealers, but it is like we have none. To be honest, they have nothing. I didnt get my computer from bahrain i ordered it through another country's dealer. In bahrain they were not flexible what-so-ever. Would u believe it if i said they were trying to fool me? they were trying to get me to buy one of the old products. another thing, i asked to make an order, a 200gb HD for a 15in Macbook Pro. That was 1 month ago till now i didnt get any reply.

But the worse experience i had with them was when they thought i was joking when i said my computer is built to order and it has arabic on the keyboard that lits. i got really angry trying to explain to them how i got it.

Too bad, the only problem i've experienced with macs is the dealer.

And dont get me started with the sales and the secretery with the loud voice... its terrible

the difference we pay in bahrain is almost equal to a mac-mini
so its like buying 2 computers, yours and a mac-mini
isnt that horrible?

not to mention lack of hardware and software availible, and if ou want anything
most of the time you will have to wait two weeks to get to you

imachines are way much better than apple-center. apple center are a bunch of rip-offs pure and simple
i once ordered a bunch of software from them , and i swear they multiplied everything by 2 and gave me the bill
so basically the $24 quicktime pro turned into $48 product. When i talked to the indian guy there he was like its supposed to be like this, these are the prices.
it was more like i am a big rip-off, i am stealing your money.
not to mention a non-wireless modem i bought from them with price of 1000 riyals with one ethernet port.
the modem looked like it was from the 1980's.
i had to buy it wouldnt work with the USB speedtouch modem.

i had to order this software cause i didnt have a credit card and iregret it up to this day.

imachines are much better, but their prices are still high, not because their rip-offs but because prices are really high, they dont sell much because no customers are there and they have to pay rent and wages.

i also believe they hardly know anything about the computers they sell,both of the stores. We dont see software for the macintosh, support is dull, and its more like nobody cares
which brings me to think, if they are such careless people
why do they open apple stores in the first place?

we have a lot to complain about really, and the only place i think it can be successful here in the GCC area is to open a store in saudia arabia or dubai, they are the only two countries with potential to have numerous customers
saudia for their great population number (20+ million)
dubai due to its high number of foreigners which has higher probablity that they use macintosh than arab customers
